Novak Djokovic's First Round Victory: Repeat of 2011 Performance!

Defending Champion Novak Djokovic made an impressive start to his season by winning 17 consecutive games from being 1-2 down in the first set.  It was a classy performance by World No. 1 as he cruised to the second round of the Australian Open comfortably in straight sets against Paolo Lorenzi.

The match ended in just 92 minutes with the score line:  6-2, 6-0, 6-0. However just for the starters, I thought it will be a good idea to see how his game stats looks like for the season 2012 vs. 2011 Hard Court Stats!

Clearly as we can see that Djokovic has started off this year from where he left off. Shoulder Pain, Fatigue, Pressure everything is now all gone and what we saw today was the same old Djokovic of 2011 who won 3 GS and had one of the best seasons in the history of tennis.

A warning sign for Nadal & Federer and an exciting sign for all the fans as it looks like we have some breathtaking tennis awaiting for all of us in the coming two weeks.

For Tennis fans, I will leave you with the tweener hit by Djokovic in this match: Reminded you of something-now didn't it :)?
