Statsmeter has got 2 out of 2 now for rightly predicting the winner and the number of sets of the first 2 Qf (Federer in 3 and Nadal in 4)!
Coming on to QF 4: Novak Djokovic vs David Ferrer. Till now the head to head record is 6-5 and on hard courts it is 5-2. Ferrer won the last meeting that took place between them at ATP World Tour Finals.
Let’s take a look at the statistics till now in Australian Open for both these players:
Game Statistics | Djokovic | Ferrer |
1st Serve % | 65 | 62 |
Aces | 35 | 14 |
Unforced Errors | 76 | 110 |
Winning % on 1st Serve | 77 | 74 |
Winning % on 2nd Serve | 60 | 50 |
Winners | 135 | 130 |
Receiving Points Won % | 55 | 49 |
Break Point Conversions | 63 | 71 |
I will let the stats do most of the talking here this time. If Ferrer has to win, he will have to improve his first serve, reduce his unforced errors and mix up his game today.
For Djokovic, if he has to win- he just has to play like DJOKOVIC. He is playing even better than 2011, is feeling fit and healthy and is fully confident to repeat 2011.Need I say more?
My pick- Djokovic in 3. What about you?
